The date we could travel led us to schedule a trip that the NCL Sun was the cruise ship involved. I read reviews before we traveled, some were good and some not. The less than pleasing reviews mentioned a smell of sewage sometimes. Well, I have to report our bathroom had a persistent unpleasant smell of sewage. (We had brought a spray deodorizer with us which allowed us to mostly neutralize the problem but had we not had the can with us it would have been much worse.)
On the first night we were hot, didn't seem the AC was functioning. We called Guest Services and reported it and to their credit they responded promptly. A technician came out, opened the access door to the AC and found a filter with about 1 inch of dust on it. He put in a new filter and we were cool enough the rest of the cruise.
At ports the deck on which to get off the ship was not communicated well. Very poor signage. In fact, at one port we were in line to disembark when they just stopped the proceedings and changed to another deck. When they got the other deck in operation they let the people wanting to reboard do so before letting us off which resulted in our having almost an hour delay before being allowed off. Inexcusable.
