We chose this cruise because the destination was the beautiful island of Bermuda and we wanted a cruise ship that would give us more than an overnight there. The Summit's itinerary gave us 3 days docked in King's Wharf (2 overnights).
We were pleasantly surprised with the condition and appearance of Summit. Our cabin, particularly, was better than we actually expected. It was an ocean view cabin on deck three. It looked new and the window was much bigger than we expected. There was plenty of storage space and the bathroom was more than adequate. There was, however, a constant humming sound from the engines/turbines (or whatever they are!) This irritated me more than my husband but didn't stop either of us sleeping well.
We were pleased to be allocated first sitting for dinner. The food in the MDR was acceptable rather than outstanding. Service was, as always, excellent. Food in the buffets was of a similar standard. Generally we found the choice on board Summit to be less than we experienced on Eclipse a couple of years ago and we were, therefore, a little disappointed.
A little bit out of the way and nothing to see roundabouts.
Easy access to ferries and local buses. Some shopping and local bars which appeared not to stay open long in the evening even though a cruise ship was in dock.
