We travelled with friends but the ship stopped at smaller ports which gave us a chance to see some wonderful things.

My review, however, is based on Crystal's claim to be a 6 star line. We normally travel on Oceania and Silversea (and others) so our expectations were very high...and they weren't met. Except for the entertainment, which was excellent, there was nothing very special about the ship or its service. While this cruise line may have been special 10 years ago (when we first were on it), it has stood still while others improved.

The decor is rather bland and a little dated. Their booking system for the dining room is too cumbersome and rather annoying. Food was good but not outstanding and 2 dinners weren't very good at all. Read more
