Sail Date: May 2016

We have sailed on the Zuiderdam three tines in the last two and half years and this was a disappointment to us as the ship has gone down hill just since last year in the Med. The food quality was poor and the service on the Lido not up to par. Our cabin steward was great however. The entertainment was lacking on most nights especially the HAL singers and dancers. Cabin furniture is old and worn and the outside of the ship looks terrible. Will not sail on the Zuiderdam again. They had changed captains since last year and I don't know if that had made a difference or not. Service in the dining rooms was slow and the dining room was never opened for lunch even on sea days. Desserts were lacking of flavor and overdone in most cases. They didn't have enough help or food on the Lido the nights they knew would be heavy due to late excursions getting back to the ship in St Petersburg and Warnemunde. Poor planning.

Port Reviews

Copenhagen

Went two days early to Copenhagen and toured on our own. It is a great city to visit and if you stay in central location you can walk to most everything of interest. Things are more expensive there so be ready.

Gothenburg

This was just a filler stop for the cruise. Not that much to enjoy here.
