I am comparing this to the NCL Jade I took to western Caribbean. This ship is huge and modern and new. This is the only plus to the Escape. The entertainment on this ship is boring. The After Mid night show was so boaring that if I sat in the aisle seat I would run as fast as I could. Food was average. All the crew members looked exhausted and over worked. I hesitated to ask any one for help just by the looks on their faces. Photo shop crew was burnt out and so was the housekeeping crew. They tried to smile the best but again looked overworked. If you are traveling with few families and are in separate state rooms it is impossible to get all pictures on the same photo book as you will have to register the photos to one state room to do this. Hence we were not able to get the memory maker book. When asked the photo shop crew told me repeatedly that each stateroom should get their own package. I reminded them that I paid for all the state rooms and NCL had no problems when I paid for everyone but now has a problem when I want to get all photos in one book to keep it all together. Their speciality restaurants have similar menu as the Jade but there was no charm to the decor. It did not represent the country of origin but was just modern decor all through out. There was only one family/kids pool. Most of the times one could not even put a foot in the pool as it was packed and not large enough to accomodate all the kids. There was literally a mile long waiting for each of the water slides due to the crowd. Casino was mid ship and so the entire atrium and O'Sheehan's restaurant smelled of Cigarettes as one was allowed to smoke here. The atrim was packed with activities but again was not large enough to hold the crowds. Their Escape theater was very small compared to the Jade and hence one must have reservations ahead of time to attend the shows.

Next time I will keep my ship choice to a smaller size

Port Reviews

Nassau

We just walked to the shore and it looked dirty, dangerous. Hence decided not to take a taxi to paradise islang. NCL should remove this from their ports. 5 cruise ships disembarked at the same time. There was no room to walk. I was afraid I would loose my kids.

Miami

Miami is Miami. Filled with tourists and activities.

St. Thomas

Port was clean enough. We walked to the local shops. Decided we were tired and hence did not take the taxi trip to beach.
