Another slice of heaven on the Getaway. Now a week since we've returned and still feeling the positive energy and effects of a great vacation on NCL Getaway. The Getaway has become our favorite ship for so many reasons (see other reviews for details) and it continues to get it right.

We were hesitant about the new menus and "rules" but were pleasantly surprised at the new additions. Will say that the biggest disappointment is the removal of the lunch calamari. Travesty. The nicest surprise was O'Sheehan's new menu and very fast service. The new mussels (appetizer) recipe at LeBistro was amazing and could be a meal itself along with the amazing bread. The re-done lobster pasta at Cucina's was also a great change. Pace yourselves, my friends.

The room size (Inside stateroom) continues to baffle me - especially the shelf space (and lack of anywhere else to put clothing). Careful of this hidden space behind the safe where I can imagine things getting easily lost/forgotten. For the first time, we had a very poor cabin steward who daily forgot towels and who did some pretty shoddy dusting. He was anxious to get us out of there as he took out our waters from the fridge and locked it up during our last night. The bath gel, soap, and shampoo were labeled incorrectly and he never placed the foot of the bed blanket. We got quite a scolding/lecture when we forgot to remove the "Do Not Disturb" notice (even his colleague was near him and nudged him to stop). We've always left an extra generous tip for the steward but not this time. Recto needs an attitude change.
