Would have been 4.5 but that isn't an option. NCL has definitely upped it's game. Thankfully, the old NCL is dead and gone.

The entire cruise staff was the friendliest and most helpful that we have ever encountered. The cruise director Tyler is amazing. He and his staff are perfectly suited for this ship and the passenger demographic. All of the entertainment was top rate. Both production shows and the standup comics are excellent. We were laughing so hard our heads were hurting, don't miss the late shows!! All the dinning options will make anyone happy. We purchased a 3 nite premium dinning package and that was amazing. Cagney's is a must if you like beef.

This ship is designed for young families, kids and activity. And Escape delivers. Our only negative would be that covered outdoor lounging away from the pool is almost non existent,, though deck 8 has limited space. The day in Tortola BVI was great. Their beaches are some of the nicest in the Caribbean, way better then any in St. Thomas, or Nassau. Cabs at the pier will shuttle you to anywhere you wish to go, so it's easy to make your own plans and it's safe.

Cabin Review

Inside Stateroom

Cabin IF

Normally we book balcony, but wanted to see what an inside cabin would offer. We are never in our cabin except to sleep and wash and this cabin proved to be just fine for that.

Anything we felt was needed, our cabin steward Johanna provide. She was great. The room was quiet and great location forward. A few extra square feet of closet space for my wife would have been nice, but she takes to much anyway. LOL

Port Reviews

Miami

Always hectic, but there are enough staff, security, others to help you along. Never a dull moment.

St. Thomas

Shoppinf for luxury items and booze is what St. Thomas has become. The beaches are average at beast and most of the ship tours are over priced and deliver little at best. Since english is spoken here go off on your own

Tortola

This stop is a jewel. Take a cab to one of the many beautiful and unspoiled beaches or ferry off to Virgin Gorda. All very easy to do from downtown. Tortola doesn't get anywhere near the amount of tourists that other islands get so is still rustic yet easy to get around. We went to Long Bay and it was amazing. If you have some adventure in you rent a scooter and beach hop a bit. The lack of traffic makes this a pretty safe way to go and all roads eventually lead back int town.

Nassau

The weak link in the chain for us. Shopping isn't as good as St. Thomas, beaches that are public are lacking and tours are nothing special. We would have preferred stopping at NCL private Island or anywhere else.
