My partner and I love to cruise. We have travelled on most Cruise Lines at many locations all around the world. I have been in a wheelchair for 11 years. I tried cruising for the first time just over one year after becoming a quadriplegic in 2006 and after that I was bit by the bug :). It is so much easier for my companion to pack and unpack once, as I require a lot of accessories for day to day living and lugging everything from place to place is difficult and expensive. There are few hobbies to chose from when you have little or no hand function unless they involve a small selection of sports or using a computer.

The majority of activities aboard ship are accessible and it's something we enjoy on a regular basis. Cruising through Tonga or Samoa is great because we have family there!

Recently, I returned to the cruise line that started it all for me, P&O Australia. Feeling amped to get aboard our ship the Pacific Pearl in Auckland for a return 10 day Pacific Island cruise with a very similar itinery to my very first cruise aboard the Pacific Star (now Peace Boat 35000 tonnes) and reminisce on how it all started.

Cabin Review

Cabin Oceanview

mouldy,

dirty,

plenty of storage,

Sufficient space for wheelchair to turn,

aircon works but smelly.

Filthy shower water leaking onto the carpet,

Friendly and helpful Cabin Attendant,

Poorly maintained,
