We chose this cruise because we liked the itinerary. We have also had many positive experiences with Celebrity cruises in the past. Embarkment and disembarkment went very smooth. The ship was clean and rooms were decent (as best as any cruise ship room can be short of the large suites). We also found the staff friendly and dependable.

That all said, were were very disappointment about a few things. All of them certainly a result of Celebrity trying to cut costs. At group dining we immediately noticed that they did away with one of the dishes (first course) and appeared to have just grouped appetizers, soup, salads together under one category. Certainly I am sure they would have brought two (an appetizer followed by a salad) if asked but I doubt most people want to do that. We also felt that the early seating meal was rushed. The waiters no longer seem to wait for all of the guests to arrive. They start taking orders/serving as soon as you sit down. Granted, I was just traveling with my husband but it just seems odd to be eating before everyone got there. Or have our table friends done with part of their meal if we arrived 10 minutes into the meal. We have been on 7-9 cruises and have never seen this on other ships.

We are VERY unhappy that Celebrity now charges to take you into the city if the port you arrive into does not have the ability to walk in on your own. This REALLY made it appear that they were nickel and diming us! Read more
