This was a 12 day cruisetour that began in Shanghai and ended in Beijing, with a 5 night cruise on the Yangtse in the middle. The arrangements were very smooth, including intra-China flights. The ship appeared to be older but refurbished. The service was very friendly and very attentive. The food onboard was excellent, with a mix of Western and Chinese foods. There were several informative lectures about the sights we'd be visiting and about China itself. The entertainment was China-themed, performed by the crew who had other jobs onboard. The public areas were beautiful and elaborate. The cabins were standard size, maybe slightly larger than a standard cabin on an ocean liner, but all the cabins had verandas, which was great for viewing the 3 Gorges and the locks of the dam. There was often a lot of walking involved to get from the ship to either the bus or the sight itself. In fact this whole trip involved a lot of walking, sometimes up very long staircases. Since China has a way to go on accessibility, this is not a trip for mobility-impaired folks. Overall, this trip was wonderful and an eye-opener. We were constantly amazed and delighted at the sights and experiences.
