This cruise was chosen for us as my daughter got married in the ship prior to sailing. After the reception and ceremony 6 of us continued on the sailing with the wedding couple. The last time I sailed Carnival was in the early 90's and at that time my impression of Carnival was not favorable. Due to our past sailing we chose not to sail Carnival and instead sail other cruise lines.( we have over 30 cruises under our belt) I will say I enjoyed myself so much that this will not be my last Carnival cruise. We chose an outside cabin on deck one. The cabin was the largest outside cabin I ever had. We had an amazing cabin steward who remembered our wants and needs and attended to them each day. Food for lunch was amazing. We had so many choice that we never hit the buffet. Guys Burgers, Blue Iguana ( breakfast and lunch), deli, pizza, Fish & Chips. I have food allergies and each of the venues were able to accommodate my needs. On sea days they had the sea day brunch and it was very good. Dinner in the MDR in the evening was hit or miss. Some nights the food was very good and other nights not so much. (Early fixed dining) An example is my MIL had salmon one night and sent it back three times as it was raw, yet I had the salmon one night and it was delicious and cooked properly. Our dining staff we felt had too many tables which made dinner slow and we were always the last table served even though we arrived before other tables. Entertainment was good. We enjoyed the singers performances, piano bar and the Punch liner Comedy club ( enjoyed PG and adult versions) Bar staff was attentive but not pushy which we enjoyed. We enjoyed ice cream open 24 hours and appreciated that they had cups and spoons for those of us who can't or don't like cones. ( this was my weakness). As for the ports we found all,but one very nice. In Grand Turk we chose to go to the beach which was walking distance from the ship. ( Jacks Shack) There is also a Margaritaville on the dock along with small shops. In Aruba we chose a Carnival Excursion called UTV Adventure and it was amazing and so much fun. In La Romana Dominican we also chose a Carnival excursion bit we were quite disappointed. We went to the Blue Hole which was advertised as 6 hour excursion. It wasn't even 4 hours and most of the time spent was in the bus or waiting for photos of you wished to purchase. Swimming in the hole was beautiful but out of the 4 hours we got a half hour of swimming and when we were walking though the gardens we were rushed by our guide. The animal encounter was them bringing out a parrot and asked if you wanted to take a photo for a fee. If I ever went back to that port I would stay in the ship. In Curacao, we chose to stay on the ship and enjoy the peace and quiet. After dinner we got off the ship and explored around the dock and bridge and had a relaxing stroll. Curacao is beautiful at night all lit up. The ship had Lectures at Sea and we found them educational and interesting. They also had a cooking show in the steakhouse where we were able to try foods that are served in the Steakhouse. Pool area on the ship was crowded as with all ships. We enjoyed the adult only pool in the back of the ship with pool and two hot tubs. We also had access to coffee, tea, frozen yogurt and ice cream machine. Pizza was also there along with a nice bar. The appearance of the ship is very dark in colors and is starting to show some wear. The one thing about the ship which we disliked was the casino was open and the smoke drifted to many parts on the ship including decks below. Overall, I would give this ship and experience a thumbs up and after this cruise we plan to take additional Carnival Cruises.

Cabin Review

Ocean View

Cabin 6A

Cabin was very large and clean. ( I have sailed on other cruise lines and had balcony cabins smaller than this one) It had a couch and table along with the bed. Beds were comfortable.

Port Reviews

Curacao

Stayed on ship during the day and explored at night and it was beautiful all lit up.

Grand Turk

We went to Jacks Shack which was a quick 15 minute walk from the ship. Beautiful beaches.

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

Arrived a day prior and spent time at Hilton Marina Hotel
