My wife and I were looking for a nice vacation and booked this cruise kind of at the last minute. This is the first cruise we've taken by ourselves in many years (without kids) so that was nice and made it different than other cruises we've taken. We've been on a handful of cruises, mostly with Carnival.
On the positive side, we booked a suite this time and really loved it. The bathroom was big, there was ample storage, and we got priority boarding, disembarking, etc.
On the down side, it seems that the quality of everything on the Carnival cruises has gone down some over the years. The dinner used to include lobster tail. Now it's extra cost. It seems that more and more things cost extra. Our table mates did the swim-with-the-dolphins shore excursion and the picture of their kid kissing the dolphin was $75! (the parents had to pay $60 each just to go along and observe). They are undoubtedly getting more money from each passenger, but ticking them off in the process.
Cabin was awesome (best part of the cruise). Lots of storage. Nice bathroom. Double sink. Separate dressing table. Very nice.
Beach is beautiful. The ferrying back and forth is somewhat of a pain, but the boats were running continuously.
The place to shop, if that's what you want to do. The last time we were here we did the Paradise Cove snorkel trip and really enjoyed it. This time we just went ashore and walked around. Within two hours, we were ready to be back on the cool boat with a paid-for lunch.
Not much to say here. It's where we boarded the ship.
