First time on Royal Caribbean, always sailed Norwegian. Getting on the ship a breeze, they have reps stationed everywhere with Ipads to scan your set sail pass and on you go. Rooms are not ready until 1pm, so it seems like everyone goes to Windjammers for lunch so it's pretty busy in there, after lunch we were off to get acquainted with the ship. Ship is gorgeous and large. Finally got to our room which was a mid-ship balcony, room was roomy and plenty of storage. Balcony was also larger than a Norwegian balcony. We found the employees to be cordial yet flat, expressionless. We didn't see our steward until the 3rd day of the cruise, our experience on Norwegian with our stewards was much more different, they went out of there way to meet you and knew everyones name in the stateroom. However our room was kept nice and clean. I requested an iron and was told that they don't offer irons and to have my clothes sent out to be pressed for a price? I passed on this as our clothes only needed a touch-up. Make sure to get up early if you want a chair by the pool as chairs are taken up by 7am. However they do have employees that will mark chairs and give you 30 minutes to get back or they will remove your towels and belongings. I saw that happen many times. Plenty of bars located around the pool area as well as servers coming around. They only had a regae band playing on the two days we were at sea and one activity. The best place for dinner is Jamies (excellent) as well as Chops, the rest, sub-par. Lack of entertainment throughout the ship less the shows. Many of the dance parties started at 11:45pm. Beautiful open, modern ship, however it lacks friendly service and entertainment. Plenty of things to do it you want to pay extra, Ifly and Northstar to name a few $$. Happy we were only on it for 5 days. Bermuda was beautiful went to Horseshoe Bay and Snorkel Park Beach, two wonderful days off the ship. Would I go on Royal again? Maybe after researching what ships have more to offer.
Cabin was really nice. Bed was near the balcony which made the room larger. Plenty of storage and a regular sized bathroom.
Leaving from Bayonne was a breeze as we live in NJ.
Kings Wharf has a mini outside mall type area as well as Snorkel Park beach.
