This is my 7th cruise as a passenger, and I went with my good buddy. We also went on a Carnival out of Galveston a few years ago. I live in Texas and didn't want to fly or drive far for the cruise, so chose Galveston again. Getting on the ship took around 45 minutes. The ship was always super clean, and it's not very hard to navigate. Almost always I found something to do. Lots of activities. Our room looked onto the "main street" on deck 5 (?). Our room-cleaning-guy was a very nice Jamaican dude, and he made some towel animals a few times, which was awesome. The pizza place was handy when we were hungry - they also have little deserts and sandwiches.....as much as you wanted to eat. The bars were plenty but the drinks are pricey. I didn't drink much but I sneaked some tequila in a water bottle. I did "anytime dining" and never waited more than 15 minutes. A very good ship....better than MSC. I also worked for NCL and Princess about a decade ago and also nicer than those. The food in the MDR was better, and the pay restaurants are all you can eat. I did the Italian restaurant. Not bad, I say ! I played basketball, the gym was awesome, my friend was on the winning volleyball team, a track for walking around the pool deck. The shows were better than I expected - I saw the ice skating show and that was cool.....I also saw some Bijou (?) show and the acrobats were exciting to watch. In Roatan, Honduras I went on a two-tank-scuba-dive with the Mayan resort. AWESOME. In Costa Maya I did a Mayan-ruins excursion. The tour was guided by a very knowledgeable man. Pretty cool if I have to say. In Cozumel I did a two-tank dive with Sand Dollar Diving. Both were drift-dives and I was pleasantly surprised ! It was so awesome. Afterwards I did some snorkel near the dive-shop. I didn't put luggage outside our door in time so we walked it off....no big deal. Overall the value was superb !.....but I did lose my shirt in the casino ! My only other favorite cruise is Jam Cruise because a music festival on a ship is the bee's knees ! Look it up !
