Spent week on thomson majesty round Canaries & Madeira. Weve been on P & O and Cunard ships less than 5 years old before so wasnt expecting too much on a 20 yr old ship. Double bed in inside cabin was up against wall so cud only get out one side of bed, apart from that cabin was a bit small but fine. I must say ship was very clean and staff very good and cudnt do enough for you. Entertainment was a bit hit & miss , food a level down from P & O and Cunard but not bad. Id recommend to eat in waiter service restaurants for every meal. Restaurant waiters (The Spice Boys) done a turn entertaining the diners (Excellent) also another night the staff done a show in the theatre which was very good too. (probably better than the paid entertainers) .. we paid to visit the Le Bistro restaurant , nice food six courser but we thought £20 supplement a bit high. maybe £10 wud be fairer. Never done any trips thro' thomsons we done our own thing. Highly recommend the cable car in Funchal Madeira and the Toboggan on the roads down the mountain in the basket deffo recommend that. We got the drinks package when we booked cruise for only £9 a day which was well worth it. 10 cocktails out of 15 were included in drinks package without a supplement of £1.20 and plenty of branded name spirits also without a supplement.Only draught lager and John Smiths and Boddingtons both in cans. Drinks package is from 10.00 am until 2 am ( So plenty of time to get ur moneys worth haha) Favourite place was Funchal Madeira , probably go back there on a weeks holiday in future. Overall good cruise dont expect 4 or 5 star but for value wise id do a thomson cruise again
