We choose this cruise for the itinerary, which did not disappoint. We had marvelous weather in Norway, much better than expected. Not a drop of rain! The Rotterdam experience, however, was not up to our expectations. The Vista cabin was fine but the bathroom was in great need of updating. I would never have taken a bath in the tub! It was very warn and unclean-looking. Our steward, usually a real plus on a cruise, was unable to remember the few things we requested (ice at cocktail hour; bottled water in the cabin at all times). Once we complained at the front desk, of course, we were serviced properly. While Pinnacle Grill and Caneletto offered tasty meals, the MDR was hit and miss. And, as mentioned by others, the wait staff, while pleasant, were stretched thin and service suffered. Onboard activities are not important to us and there was nothing enticing going on. Holland America has been our "go to" line for cruises. Next time, however, I will look around at other options.

Cabin Review

Vista Suite

Cabin A

Good storage space. Uncomfortable mattress, unlike last HAL cruise on the Eurodam. Bathtub needed replacement; its seedy look made the whole room feel "dirty." The curtained divisions are great if one partner wants to sleep in!
