This was our first ever cruise. What appealed to us was the mix of days at sea, together with the variety of ports. We also did not want one of the very large ships.

Embarkation went very smoothly, getting on around 11.30 in the morning. Our cabin (deluxe balcony) was available at 1pm and we quickly unpacked. Plenty of storage space in the cabin. Cases fitted easily under the bed. We had taken two bottles of wine on board and were able to store them in the mini-bar.

With no preconceptions we were very impressed by the ship. It was absolutely full but yet did not seem overcrowded. We had chosen My Time Dining and just turned up whenever we felt like it, although it eventually ended up with a drink in the Schooner Bar at around 8pm and then onto the dining room. This way we were not on the same table with the same people for 12 nights. We ate only one breakfast in the Minstrel dining room which was fine and all the other times in the Windjammer – whilst it was very crowded we always managed to find somewhere to sit and the food was fine. I also enjoyed the Park Cafe which was great for a snack in the afternoon.

Perfect for our first cruise. Lots of storage space. Cases fitted easily under the bed. Small but adequate size balcony. Slight problem with shower hot water at the start but quickly solved. Excellent steward.
