Sail Date: Jun 2016

We sailed on the Norwegian Getaway on June 05, 2016 for 7 days, visiting Roatan Honduras, Belize, Cozumel, and Costa Maya. This was our first time cruising on Norwegian cruise line. We have taken 5 previous cruises, one Disney, one Carnival and 3 Royal Caribbean. Before this cruise, our favorite cruise line was Royal Caribbean. But, now I can say it is Norwegian. I was so impressed with most everything on the Getaway. We had a mini suite close to the middle of the ship on deck 11. The room wasn't overly big, but sufficient. I was impressed with the storage in the room. I like how we could put our suitcases under the bed and out of the way. The bathroom was a great surprise. There was a walk in shower that had 6 jets and a rain shower head. double sinks. Great space. I like that you could let the cabin stewart know if you didn't want to be disturbed or want him to make up the room, by pushing a switch on the wall. Our deck was the smallest we have ever had, room for 2 chairs and a very small table, had to turn the chairs toward each other to have leg room( a minus) Now to the rest of the ship. On previous cruises the food was fair to not so good, but I can say that on the Norwegian Getaway, best food hands down. We didn't eat anything that wasn't good. Full flavor, sweet treats, I loved the dine when you wanted. And there are 6 places you can eat that are included in the price of your cruise. We ate most of our evening sit down meals at Taste or Savor, excellent food. On dress up night(which is optional) we ate at Tropicana room, again, great food. One night we ate at the complementary Noodle bar, for a change,(oriental food) That was good also. We never ate ate the Flamingo grill or O'Sheehans, but the food looked good there also. We ate breakfast and lunch in the Garden Cafe( buffet) Great food and the varitey was excellant. There was an omlet station at breakfast, plus everything else you could ever want. At lunch there was a salad making station(they mixed a salad with what all you chose) a pizza station, a pasta station, where you could pick the pasta and ingredients and they cooked it for you, a crepe station( they made crepes and you chose what you wanted in them, I loved the chocolate) plus any and all foods you could every imagine. The service was excellent.

If your a pool person, you might be dissapointed, it is small and there is only one. There is a kiddie pool area and the Haven guests have thier own pool. The entertainment was the best we have ever seen. The million dollar quartet broadway show, was excellent and the talent was remarkable. The Burn the Floor show was wonderful, those dancers were so talented. The howling at the moon dueling piano show in Headliners was really good, those people could play anything and knew the lyrics too! The comedians we saw had very good acts. I liked the activities at the Atrium, Deal or no Deal, Marriage game, ect. all very entertaining. Our cruise director was very good( sorry I can't remember his name, but he was so happy and friendley and had it all together.

The track was small, you had to go around it 8 times to make a mile, but it was fine. I was a little hard to find a lounge chair, but doable. All in All I would highly reccomend the Norwegian Getaway, very few minus and a whole lot of plus.
