I chose this cruise because of the Ports that it called at and I really enjoyed each one. Rather than do lots of excursions we explored the area in the Ports independently either through a city tour or just on foot. None of the Ports disappointed although the weather could have been better, it has rained at home though since we have been away!!!
Oceania is an old ship but I found her comfortable and although there was maintenance going on most days in port, (we were warned of this in advance) it wasn’t disruptive or noisy. The state room was fine the only real issue was that the bathroom is really small and the shower has a curtain and not a screen. Having said that it wasn’t a problem for me as I didn’t spend much time in the bathroom.
One area I was disappointed with was that there were no parasols on any of the areas with sunbeds. I like to sit out in the fresh air but not in the glare of the sun, in fact for health reasons I can’t sit in direct sunshine.
Ok - bathroom very, very small and shower curtain not a screen
Cabin clean and comrfortable - plenty of hanging space for clothes,
Nice place - did hop on hop off city tour which was good - ship was in tender and along way out - the tender out was a local one and we waited about 15 mins in the tender before leaving with the engine spewing out diesel fumes- it was awful.
typical greek port - just wandered around and took in sighte
best port - did a local tour from the town - nice local market and good to wander round
didn't go to Rome as we had all been before .The actual port of Civitavecchia is worth a visit if you are not going in to Rome
Embarkation port so not really time
