Due to swollen rivers at the start of our trip we were not able to get on our ship from the original starting point, we had to be bussed further down the river to where the boat was moored. Had no problem with this as we would not have travelled through the Danube/main canal if we had got on at our original staring point of nuremberg. It was great to see the locks in use, they are huge.

This was our first river cruise and done a bit of research before deciding on Emerald waterways only because the ships were fairly new and very stylish. So glad we did. Not having done a river cruise before we did not know what to expect, and were pleasantly surprised just how much we loved it. Our fellow cruisers were a mix of scots, english, austrailian, american and canadian. Was a great mix of nationalities and everyone was really nice and got on well. Was open seating at meal times so was great for meeting new people. Meals were very good. Buffet for breakfast and lunch with a great variety, and 4 course served meal for dinner. Wine and beer free with lunch and dinner and glasses were filled regularly.

Cabins were very stylish and had plenty of storage and well appointed. Read more
