Having enjoyed our previous Uniworld Cruise in Venice, I wanted to use Uniworld for a trip to revisit, after many years, Nuremburg, Heidelberg, Wurzburg and German foods, beer and wines. However, we began our "cruise" with the two night extension stay in Prague at the Boscolo Hotel. A first class hotel and opportunity to experience Prague, local cuisine and fresh Pilsner, wonderful! The cruise sight seeing options available were excellent. Our visit to tiny walled Aschfeld provided a real sense of German heritage and culture in a small village. Residents provided homemade Kuchen (cake) and beverages. The wine tasting tour through the vineyard in Nierstein was outstanding providing, generous samplings of local wines while viewing vistas of steep Rhein River Valley vineyard slopes riding in tractor pulled wagons. More generous brot (bread) and wurst snacks. There were ample opportunities to observe and photograph many picturesque half-timbered houses in Rothenburg, Miltenburg and Strasburg. If you enjoy marble sculpture and gilded decor, you will be enthralled by the tour of the Wurzburg Residence.
Cruising along the Main and Rhein Rivers was smooth even though the route involves traversing many locks. The food and service on board were excellent. Our staff was very kind and attentive paying particular interest to individual passengers' particular food and beverage preferences. If Mila is the bartender be sure to try a "Hugo." We appreciate the comfort of being able to turn over all of the logistics and planning to Uniworld. We also appreciate that top shelf beverages and all gratuities are included.
Modest size cabin but, cozy and adequate. Housekeeping refreshed stateroom, towels and amenities several times per day. Service and food in general was excellent.
