This was our fifth cruise with Celebrity, first time on this ship. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip, which started with an overnight stay in Rome. We booked with The Scottish Cruise Centre, and their organisation of everything, including pickups from airport to hotel, hotel to ship and ship back to airport were efficiently dealt with, we had no complaints. The check in was fast, as we are Select members of the Captain's Club. The disembarkation was the same, well organised. The ship would benefit from a little TLC here and there, but nothing to complain about. We ate only in the main dining room and the restaurant on deck 10 for breakfast and lunch. We felt no need to upgrade to the speciality restaurants, as we found the food of a good standard. These were being pushed quite a lot, but a polite "no thanks" was all that was required. We had a classic drinks package, which was perfectly adequate, and included beers, wine by the glass, some spirits, cocktails and speciality coffees etc, all of which were good.

We found the staff friendly and very attentive to our needs. Off the ship, we tended to do our own thing, using local transport or sharing taxis with new friends we had made on the ship, which worked out very well. We had cruised in this area before, and the only new port was Valetta, where we hired a taxi for a few hours and really saw quite a lot, well worth the money! Lovely sail in! We had a taxi in Athens too, and the driver seemed to know all the side roads to get us out of the traffic heading for the Acropolis, which was just mad! The sail in to Venice was, of course, really special as always! The entertainment was as good as we have seen on any ship. The adult late night show Eleyria, was different, but very entertaining! All in all, another great cruise with Celebrity.

Port Reviews

Kusadasi

Did not appreciate hassle of traders in Kusadasi, went straight back on to ship. Do they not realise that they would sell more if they allowed you to browse in peace! We are quite savvy, but could have been intimidating for some people! Have been here before and had taken the Historical site trip last time, very impressive!

Mykonos

Just wandered around this lovely place. Beautiful!

Rhodes

Again, just wandered around the town. Lovely!

Venice

Took the people mover(monorail) from the port. Very short journey, saved waiting for water taxi. Easily done, but not advertised from the ship? Ship had organised transfers for $22 per person to San Marco if you wanted. People with these booked were disembarked first of course!
