Cabin: Mid-Ship Mini-Suite with Balcony

We just returned from a 7 Day cruise on the Norwegian Breakaway. The ship was beautiful. We reserved a mini suite. It was adequate space for a cruise ship, probably larger than most, but I think it was a little smaller than the Pride of Hawaii. The bathroom was surprisingly large. Our cabin steward Shaida was good. She was very accommodating as my aunt traveling with us had a disability. Shaida was good at making sure our room was cleaned during the short periods that the cabin was empty.

We should have booked a handicap accessible mini suite to accommodate my aunt's disability. Just to note, in the regular mini suite, you have to step up into the bathroom. I am not sure what features are available with the handicap accessible units. Also, her scooter could not fit into our cabin. As a result, each evening and morning, she had to call guest services to bring her scooter or take it away and charge it at night. That was not very convenient, however it is my understanding that the accessible units have larger doorways and can fit a wheel chair or scooter. There were a number of handicap accessible public restrooms on each public floor of the ship. Often times my aunt preferred to use those because she could roll her scooter right in the restroom.

The restaurants were great. I highly recommend that you try the Manhattan Room. The decor was beautiful. The food was excellent. While this restaurant is not a specialty restaurant, some of the items on the menu will require an upcharge, however, there were plenty of options available from steak to seafood, that did not require an upcharge. There is live entertainment at the Manhattan Room during dinner. The ambiance was amazing. We actually liked this restaurant so much that we had dinner there 3 times. .

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin MA

The cabin was nicely decorated. It was not as large as what I remembered from traveling on the Pride of Hawaii, but larger than when I traveled on Carnival or Royal Caribbean. The balcony was also smaller than what I remembered on the Pride of Hawaii. The bathroom was large and very nice. There was a dual sink and the shower was very nice. I would have liked some additional room
