I would love to say that my cruise was a great surprise and was better then expected alas it was not. I read many reviews before leaving and thought to myself why did we book this ship but to tell the truth it was cheap as we booked very late. However as my son said to after my return you get what you pay for in this ships case it is correct.

Yes it has undergone refurbishment and it looks very pretty many bright colours and new lounges etc but were they serviceable or comfortable for the most part not really. Why on a cruise line where older clients travel frequently why would you put numerous chaise type lounges without back support low level seating and in the new pantry coffee tables to eat at not drink coffee but actually eat three meals a day. There was a distinct lack of proper tables and chairs in this heavily frequented dinning area. Many of the lounge areas where entertainment took place Ocean bar and blue bar this was an ongoing problem in the Blu bar it was broken into several sections most of which could not see the entertainers in the section where you could yep bloody chaise lounges. Needless to say I did not frequent that area.

As for the entertainment the Director Bobbi needs to get out of her room stop changing into her beautiful wardrobe and start mixing with the passengers. Yes Bobbi they pay your wages not the other entertainers guest or permanent you need to see what will make the passengers happy and how to involve them and get them mixing together and dancing etc. I had been on the Azamara in January/Feb 2016 where the entertainment director was on deck daily talking joking and asking questions of how everyone was enjoying themselves all day and night he was well known people went out of their way to get to know him he was so approachable. The same was true of another recent voyage on Royal Caribbean Dec 2014. It was because of these previous experiences that I was left very disappointed with P&O.

Cabin Review

Cabin obv

Room was average kept very clean by staff no complaints there. Cupboard space tight could have more full hanging. Didn't like bed being beside window as curtains didn't block light didn't need to get up so early it was a holiday.

Need to replace tiny bath with shower luckily our plumbing worked well this can be a problem on this ship.

No fridge this is a problem I like cold drinks we had to get icebuckets twice daily.
