Cabin: Balcony

Chose this cruise to experience carnival for the first time as they only come to Europe when launching a new ship.

We had a balcony cabin (8420) deck 8. We found this a great location as was only two decks up to the buffet and short walk down to deck 5 to most bars and evening entertainment.

The ship is bright, well laid out and even though there was over 4000 people on it you would never know, it has tons of outside space. You will never have trouble finding somewhere to sit outside, either in the sun or the shade.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin 8D

Cabin felt spacious, 3 wardrobes but only one full length hanging. Comfortable bed and flat screen tv. Fridge was empty so could fill with own drinks. Good safe and adjustable air con. Good layout in bathroom and lots of room in shower as was a curtain and not a cubicle. Poor design on opening does for balconies (not sliding patio doors) as they constantly slam when people go in and out. Good location, very quiet and short walk round corner to lift and stairs.

Port Reviews

Barcelona

Chaotic embarkation

Palermo (Sicily)

Pick up hop on off bus just outside port gates

Rome (Civitavecchia)

If not on a cruise company excursion you must get bus out of the port, it's quite a long way
