We chose to cruise on Allure of The Seas because of its reviews and sheer awesomeness. What we did not know was just how grand this vessel really is up close and personal. You can read all about this spectacular ship but until you step foot aboard her, all the kind words and descriptions don’t do her justice. This ship is the ship of dreams. I sometimes don’t like the off color carpets and wall colors that some cruise ships have, but this ship was designed by someone who obviously isn’t color-blind. It was a welcomed treat.

We hadn’t sailed with RCCL in 10 years so we were excited to be back. Throughout our traveling years we consistently hoped that better changes were just over the horizon for our sister cruise line Carnival. But unfortunately they consistently let us down in several areas of cruising so we finally decided to go back and try RCCL and we’re glad we did. RCCL has excelled in a several areas and in my opinion are now leading the industry in cruising satisfaction. The food selection and quality aboard this ship was second to none. The buffets and specialty restaurants were 5-star. We ate in the main dining room only once. Fine dining to me isn’t always what it’s cracked up to be, but needs to be experienced at least once aboard such a great ship. The food served in the main dining room seems to never be up to temperature. I previously worked in the food service industry and find this personally undesirable. I understand this meal is not cook-to-order, but it should still be held at an acceptable temperature in my opinion. Thus I prefer buffet meals which were always at optimum temperature. I don’t know what happened to the ‘mid-night buffets’ cruises used to have, but that’s about the only thing they all seem to be missing these days.

Even though the size of this ship is enormous, there is so much to do to keep people from being concentrated in one area, except the self-serve ice cream line. It was always a line, no matter what. Maybe more could be done to keep both machines in working order though. It seems that one or the other was down about half the time they were open. The wait in line for Customer Service was incredibly long every time we passed it. On this particular ship, they stationed a crew member that approached those in line and asked if she could help with their question. Both times we were in line for Customer Service we never made it to the counter. This crew member was able to answer our questions without us having to wait in the long line. That was a big plus as we walked away feeling helped and relieved at the same time.

Cabin Review

Central Park View Stateroom

Cabin CV

The cabin was awesome. The view was one of the best. I would probably like an outside view on this ship in the future, but it was remarkable to look out of my balcony and see trees and green foliage.

Port Reviews

Labadee

Loved the free port activites, no hassle with locals and secured lounge chairs for a fair price. Bathing facilities were ok and the shopping was fun. Not too much pressure from locals.

Falmouth

Very fun location, would do it again!

Cozumel

We created our own excursion by renting scooters and riding around the entire perimeter of the island. Our main purpose was to visit a particular Tequilla shop for some exclusive products and no RCCL excursion offered this particular location.
