BACKGROUND: I'm 53, and this was my 29th cruise. I went with a friend. This was probably the best cruise I've ever experienced in terms of the ship, entertainment and dining. Our itinerary was the Eastern Caribbean.

EMBARKATION: We flew in from California the night before and stayed at the Renaissance Hotel, which is nicely appointed and close to the port. Our embarkation process went smoothly, and we were on board by 1:30 PM, just in time to drop our carry on bags in our cabin before exploring the ship.

SHIP OVERALL: Stunning! It has a very clean and classy look, very "Calvin Klein" in colors and design. Be sure to check out the artwork throughout. It is laid out well. The atrium has six glass elevators moving between Decks 2 to 15. The shops seem a cut above the usual cruise ship offerings. The bars and restaurants even the public restrooms! are tasteful and well-designed.
