Cabin: Concierge Class 1

the Celebrity Equinox went beyond our expectations. we had a cabin that had a balcony and a concierge service. It was wonderful. Very clean and always kept tidy every time we stepped out. Arvin and his assistant spoiled us. We felt very pampered and well taken care of. They took care of our needs without being intrusive. The cabin itself was big enough for the 12 nights and ample space for all our things. Suitcases (2 super large and 2 roller boards ) fit under the beds with room to spare. The bathroom was surprisingly bid enough and happy to see that it had glass doors unlike other Cruise ships. Overall..we would give the Cabin and the Ship itself an excellent appearance.

The food was great..I can't imagine why anyone would complain. I felt like food was everywhere and it was all great. We dined at only one specialty restaurant..the Silk Harvest. Since we live in Hawaii and enjoy a great variety of Asian cuisine out here..Silk Harvest was just okay. Our servers were wonderful..so it made that dinner great. In fact, the service throughout the ship was impressive. Not once did we come across anyone that did not smile. Every staff member we met greeted us and always smiled and asked us if we needed anything or how our day was going. We would stay there forever just to see their smiling faces. Thank you Celebrity Equinox for a wonderful time. We dined mainly at the Oceanview cafe and the Silhoutte. We had an 8:30 assigned seating which we felt was a bit late but it was our choosing, so couldn't complain. We just thought that the 6:30 was too early after a day on shore, that's why we chose 8:30. Service again was great and the couple next to us was a great pleasure to meet..so it turned out for the best.

As far as excursions went..we booked all from Celebrity and enjoyed every single one of them. Would do the same on future cruises. They took good care of us. The only one we didn't care for was the guide in Santorini. Her English wasn't as clear as the others. Especially enjoyed our guide in Kusadasi to Ephesus. But did not care for the "rug factory" tour. The demo was short..just more of a sales tactic. Kusadasi was a great port, but was bothered with all the people trying to sell you something before you get back on the ship. The welcoming traditional local dance was a nice touch. All excursions were very well organized and appreciated all of the information that "Super Mario" would give out every morning. As well as the informational videos on the tv in our rooms.

Cabin Review

Concierge Class 1

Cabin C1

Perfect ..quiet and a bit isolated from the rest of the ship. A bit of a walk to elevators but still a great location. Sitting out on the balcony was my favorite time. It was private and our next door neighbors were just as quiet. So it felt like a private retreat. Arvin and his assistant( I'm sorry I forgot his name ) kept our cabin clean and tidy. The turn down service and chocolates on our pillows was a nice touch. The Concierge service worth the extra cost. The canapés and fruits everyday was more than enough. How much food can anyone eat? We thoroughly enjoyed our cabin stay. I think the 3 Sea days was not enough time to enjoy. So much activities around the ship. Making decisions was the hardest part of the cruise..Thank you.

Port Reviews

Rome (Civitavecchia)

The trip from the train station in Civitavecchia to port was a struggle. The station did not have escalators or elevators or we did not see them. Everyone struggle with bringing their luggage down and then up the stairs. It was crazy. But since everyone was in a great mood..there was a lot of groaning and laughing at the same time. But seriously...they should know that majority of the people using that terminal is going or coming from a cruise..therefore..BAGS!! Heavy Bags! or we missed the escalators?

Positano (Amalfi)

Wonderful tour guide. Wish I could remember his name.

Santorini

We only took the bus transfer to Oia and Fera. Just as on postcard..gorgeous! Wish we had more time on Oia...wouldn't have minded skipping the wine tasting to spend another 30 minutes on Oia. What a picture perfect view in both places. My preference is Oia. Had lunch in Fera on our own. Food was excellent. View was excellent. We thought about walking down to the port..but the donkeys' "land mine " smell on a hot day was just too unpleasant. Went half way..started gagging..so went back up to take the cable cars down. The line was long but went by fast. Although it zigzagged and around..only took about 15minute wait. But again..that would vary each day.
