Our large family of 7 cruised on the Liberty of the Seas out of Galveston with 14 additional family members as part of a graduation celebration cruise. (Yes, we all cool family t-shirts.) Judging by all of the pictures on facebook, it seems that our entire group of 21 overall had a successful family cruise. So, this review will focus on my family of 7. The younger three members of the cruise (15, 11, and 10) had a blast with Adventure Ocean Club, The Teen Rooms, Splash Away Bay, and fun games with the crew (Apples to Apples, etc). They loved the independence that we offered them. The 10 and 11 year old were allowed to sign in and out of the Voyager Club. The 15 year old had the luxury of hanging with the teens and hanging participating in crew activities, riding the slides, and the tidal wave. (Younger ones couldn't ride the tidal wave unfortunately.)

My husband and I had a great time participating in the Friendly Feud competitions, watching the shows (ice in the air show was great), taking the "do-it-yourself" excursions that we planned for our family, and hanging out in the Card room with the kids playing hearts and spades til 2am each night. Lol. Hubby loved playing the Trivia games each day as well. The 18 and 20 year olds were the ones who felt as though there wasn't an opportunity to engage with their own peers. They wanted trivia questions and themes aimed toward young adult guests who were too old for Adventure Club and too young to drink. But, still, they found happiness from room service and Sorrentos free pizza.

Food was ok. Cabins were sufficient. We booked two connecting interior rooms 8373 and 8375. We planned each night for the next day and then left notes on the doors with magnets to keep each other informed if things changed. Kids went with us to Cozumel and Grand Cayman. But they decided to stay on board for the Jamaica Port. That worked just fine for me. At each port, we ate very well thanks to recommendations from our service crew. In fact, we ate well at dinner in the main dining room as well because we let Candace recommend our meals and desserts. She was spot on each time. Of course, we ordered additional just to sample...but each time, her choice was better.

Interior Stateroom

Cabin K

Connecting interior cabins. Lenny would lower the bunkbeds each evening and raise them each morning. We kept the door between the cabins open. The girls loved seeing the towel animals each evening.

Port Reviews

Galveston

I was prepared for a long wait after reading the reviews. We got to the port at 2pm. We were in our room by 3pm.

Cozumel

Found a delicious restaurant to eat in Cozumel. Abuello Gerardo (spelling??). Authentic, Good, and inexpensive.

Grand Cayman (Georgetown)

Took a cab to the Public Beach. Rented chairs and umbrellas and snorkeling equipment when we got there. So wonderful. Great swimming. It was overcast and wonderful!!

Falmouth

Took a cab to Montego Bay. Negotiated the cab rate since it was just me and my hubby. The driver did a fantastic job of taking us to some cool souvenir shops, delicious Scotchies Jerk Pork and Chicken, Beach, Downtown Sites, etc.....

It was so amazing!
