We always wanted to visit the British Isles and after doing some research, it turned out that Princess had the best itinerary for us. May was the perfect month for us as we didn't want to be there during the heat of the summertime or when school is out and everyone else is on vacation. We prepared for bad weather but were treated to some beautiful days with little rain - I even got a sunburn in London! Since we are from Las Vegas, the rain didn't bother us since it was a nice change from our norm.

We arrived 3 days early to check out London - what a wonderful city with lovely people - so many cool things to see and we didn't have enough time to do it all. We stayed at the amazing Amba Charring Cross Hotel - can't say enough wonderful things about it - and you can read my full hotel review on tripadvisor.com. We always felt safe taking public transportation everywhere - it's the best way to get around and easy to figure out.

We used Smiths For Airports to drive us from London to Southampton - good price, arrived early, clean vehicle, delightful driver - I highly recommend them. We could have taken a train/bus but since there were 4 of us (we traveled with another couple) we split the cost and that made it affordable. Also, there didn't seem to be an easy route with luggage, so we splurged on a private car service.

Great location close to elevators/stairs.

Port Reviews

Cobh (Cork)

We booked an eCoach tour to the Blarney Castle - driver Ian was wonderful and we really enjoyed his commentary. We also beat the traffic to the Blarney Castle and kissed the stone before all the Princess ship tours showed up- the line was LONG as we were leaving.
