We choose this cruise/cruisetour to experience more of what Alaska has to offer.
Our cruise was great, the only complaints we had was our cabin E725 Island Princess has a obstructed wall on the balcony would have rather had it open wall, and where the room is located you can feel the rutters, our celebrations were not celebrated on the ship as noted but on the land tour they went over above. Having been on the Island Princess before we missed the entertainment venue that they turned into cabins, and the gym is like a cave now due to the new cabins. We were glad to hear they will not do the remodel the same on the Coral Princess so if we sail to Alaska again we will choose Coral or another ship. If you have not sailed on the Island Princess before you wouldn't know. Also they pushed picture sales more this time, it would be nice if Princess would just load you photos on your cruise card and if you wish to purchase pictures when you return home you could do so. ( like disneyland does with their photo card)
Our cruise tour land option lodges were great!!! Our favorite was the Copper River lodge, we also visited Denali, Mt McKinley and in Ancorage the Captain Hook Hotel. In the FYI of cruise tours it states that meals are not included on the land tour and it list the average costs plus tips.
E725 I would not choose this cabin, very noisy with the engine sounds and movement, balcony has a solid wall to the right, sliding door very difficult to open. The only plus would be that at the end of the hall you can go out on the back of the ship great for pictures and viewing glaciers!! not crowded at all.
