Hi all, just wanted to share our experience on the Solstice on the March 22 sailing. I see others have already written so I'll try not to duplicate too much. There was myself, my husband and our 2 boys ages 8 & 11.
Pre-cruise: Stayed at Springhill Suites. Spacious rooms but there was a false fire alarm when we arrived. The shuttle from the airport arrived within 15 minutes, and waited for me (I was running up to the pick up point), but refused to wait for my husband and kids who were running about 20 seconds behind me with all the luggage. Driver said he'd be back in 1/2 hour and took off which was annoying given that there was only 1 other person in the whole shuttle and he wasn't parked in a busy area. Anyways, decided not to wait and took a $20 cab ride. I told the manager and he said he could have reimbursed us had we got a receipt from the cab. The included breakfast the following morning was very nice and another shuttle took us to the ship around 10:45.
Embarkation: There wasn't a big lineup and it was moving pretty quickly until we got to the front of the line. Then, all the computers shut down for about 20 minutes. The staff was very nice and kept coming over to the line and apologizing. A couple showed up in the suite lineup and was all annoyed that even they had to wait, it was a funny scene. We were just happy to be so close to our highly anticipated holiday! Once the computers started up, it was a matter of minutes before we were on our way.
