This was a great cruise and extended family vacation. Embarkation was smooth and quick though this might be due to us processing through after 12:00. The one thing I did notice is that I am not sure the employees in the terminal enjoyed their jobs. Get lost in the process due to lack of clear signs as to where you go and there was someone quick to snap and yell at you.

The ship is amazing. So much to see and do. There are some ships that give you that ocean liner feel, this one gives you the feel of a floating vacation resort. So much of the things to do took place in interior spaces that you lost the feeling of being on a ship. Standing in the Royal Promenade or Boardwalk feels like you are in any mall in America. Standing in Central Park feels like a courtyard of a resort hotel. If you are looking for a grand ocean liner feel, you won't find it here. A few times we found ourselves running into a bit rougher seas with swells being an estimated 6+ feet and one night they were probably around 10 feet. You could certainly feel it at the bow of the ship but at the rest of the ship you could feel the size of the ship and the stabilizers doing their job. I saw a few places where the carpet was worn and some of the railings had a bit of wear but overall it is a very nice ship.

We had a superior ocean view stateroom with balcony and all I can say is it was small. Understanding that we were on a cruise ship excuses the size but you can tell the design was for maximum number of rooms. They give you just enough room to walk by the end of the bed.

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D2

Stateroom was adequate. We had 3 in the room and it was cramped and lacked storage. We were constantly doing what I called the "around the bed shuffle." Since there is only about 15 inches between the end of the bed and the wall, we constantly found ourselves stepping aside to allow one person to pass by the end of the bed before the other could pass. This was even worse at the closet. Only one person could access the closet at a time and since this is the only real storage in the room, it was a bit annoying. The bathroom was small with the shower being tiny. I am not a large person but found myself banging my elbows into the sides of the shower regularly. The third person in the room was living out of their suitcase due to the lack of storage. The other annoying problem with the room in the era of technology is the lack of power outlets. with only three outlets and 3 people with smartphones, tablets, laptops, the hairdryer, and other styling appliances, we were constantly pulling the plugs on each others devices for our own. The mattress on the king/twin bed was lumpy and felt of low quality. The convertible couch folded down and they simply tossed sheets and a blanket on top, which never stayed in place, like what you might do on a futon. Overall the room was ok but thought it would have been so much better if they would have given it another 24 inches in width but that would sacrifice way to many rooms to get the space.
