Having cruised with Carnival and Disney prior to sailing Majesty of the Seas, I spent a ton of time researching the ship before our family vacation and had reasonable expectations going into the trip. To begin, I will say that Majesty of the Seas is good for someone looking for an affordable getaway. Our group consisted of 10 travelers, four adults and six children ranging in ages from 2 to 17. Embarkation was very smooth, we arrived at Port Canaveral at 10:45am and embarked the ship in around 15 minutes. Majesty is a beautiful, older ship that in certain areas shows her age. The ship could use a painting/cleaning in some public corridors and new carpet. The ocean view cabins located on deck 8 are small, but manageable.

The food in the Windjammer buffet was average, comparable to that of a chain buffet restaurant. I will say that in my experience of cruising that is pretty much to be expected. The food in the main dining room however, was very good and I will go as far to say the best food I have ever had onboard a cruise ship. The evening entertainment onboard the ship was hit or miss. The children's programing and activities were average with not many things offered to keep kids of varying ages entertained. Coco Cay was great with a delicious island barbeque, Nassau is Nassau.

The worst part of the trip was disembarkation, which consisted of a long line of travelers up several decks, something I've never experienced on a cruise ship. Overall, the trip was average and met our expectations for the price paid. I would cruise Majesty again without children, but for a family vacation would select a newer, bigger ship.
