The NCL Spirit is the oldest and smallest of the fleet. It does not have the bells, whistles and choices of the newer and larger ships but does have charm. The smaller size makes it great for smaller European ports like Kotor and Dubrovnik.

There are fewer dining choices than some of the bigger ships, but we found food quality and service good. We had the unlimited dining package so we enjoyed all the specialty restaurants, especially Cagney's Steak and Teppanyaki.

This cruise was all about the ports - 10 scheduled for 12 day cruise - from Barcelona to Venice. We were pressed into service to aid in a rescue at sea that caused us to miss our call in Mykonos, Greece. The ports were great and embarking and disembarking were generally quick and easy. Boarding in Barcelona was especially quick and efficient. Due to the port heavy itinerary we did not have much time or energy for spa or entertainment.

Cabin Review

Aft-Facing Owner's Suite with Large Balcony

Cabin SB

This is one of the premier cabins on the ship. The suite is comfortable and well appointed but not quite as lux as a similar cabin on one of the Haven Suites on a newer ship. There was noticeable engine noise and vibration on occasions when the ship was traveling at high speed. The balcony is a bit small, but provided great views departing ports.
