Sadly, we have always been loyal customers to this cruise line, but this adventure has tested that loyalty. The overall experience on this cruise can be summed up in this: ship was let out of dry dock in non-working condition, ship staff was understaffed and poorly trained (with the exception of our waiter and massage therapist), and there appeared to be an overall level of confusion at all times.
I would recommend that anyone looking to take a cruise, take one of the other ships. The ports of call on this one were great, which is why we selected it originally, but situation that the ship is in and the staffing issues detract from this.
As far as food is concerned, which is usually a highlight of most cruises, it was definitely sub par on this one. For example, due to problems with refrigeration, ice cream was absent for most of the cruise. This would not normally be a problem except that every menu at night for dessert listed various items containing ice cream...taking the list of 5 options down to 2. Others on board received apple cobbler with baking powder sprinkled on top, instead of powdered sugar. This was/is a sad representation of what we have previously experienced Royal Caribbean to be like. Again, don't take this ship. Take one of the others.
It is an older ship, so rooms are smaller--ours was 111 Sq ft by RC measurements
Able to get on the boat quickly.
