We have never sailed with Royal Caribbean and the itinerary was good also we got a very good deal. Embarkation a very long queue but we were pleased with the cabin, inside deck 7 midship. Very clean and very comfortable. The cabin attendant was great, Marlon. We got our table for 2 in the King Lear restaurant for dinner, our waitress May and assistant Emanuel were brilliant (table 631). All the staff were wonderful. The entertainment was fantastic but the drinks were very expensive 35 dollars for 2 very small glasses of Pinot Grigio inc 5 dollars gratuity in Vintages !.

Toni Warne from the Voice, Darren Day, Mick Miller to name a few. Great and the two ice shows were amazing. The food was ok. We had breakfast and lunch in the Windjammer. If I never see bread and butter pudding again I will be happy ! Disembarking was awful. A blonde lady who was in charge in the Macbeth was extremely rude and told us if we didn't move out of the way she wouldn't call our number to leave. True to her word she didn't. The last number called was 27, after a long wait a tannoy announced Numbers 1 to 31 could leave we were 28. ! I think she needs a people management course. Until that time we had a great holiday. The Independanr is a lovely ship.

I agree with a previous review, a few less passengers would have been better. We never could get a seat in any place other than the theatre where we went early. Everywhere was packed.

Port Reviews

Barcelona

Took the shuttle bus and walked Las Ramblas we were disappointed as we only saw one person dressed up as a statue but she was brilliant, a golden Angel. Tip if you need the bathroom there's one in Burger King !

Nice

It was a tender at Nice, the wait to go was a total mess up of organisation, but Nice is worth a visit.

Rome (Civitavecchia)

It was ok but not very impressive, sorry not to be more helpful

Valencia

Shuttle to centre but it was a very long walk through drab streets to the coast across a very busy wide main road

Malaga

Some very pretty walks to a beach it was a long walk, very pretty but the beach wasn't very nice.

Seville

We had already been here so stayed on the ship. Some nice beaches. The tour bus is a good option outside the port gate I think it's 17 euros each.
