After a reasonable coach transfer to the port, we entered the terminal and were met with what seemed to be the entire compliment of 4000 passengers standing in line waiting for security processing and once through that another long line waiting zigzag style for their sea pass and room assignments, little did we know that these lines were apparently a taste of things to come. Everything, and I do mean everything has to be queued for, particularly the lifts, a total joke!
The excursions, meet 30/40 mins before and sit waiting for stragglers. Sadly, most of the excursions felt rushed and the local guides we experienced were pretty poor. Although the ports of call on the whole were good, once again, huge queues attempting to reboard the ship. The theatre, get there at least 45 mins before the show starts or you will not get a seat. Breakfast, ask for a table of two and you get a table of two, however, you are seated with other tables of two which they then treat as a table of eight or more, and you wait for food.
The buffet, total chaos, full of ignorant rude halfwits that push in, bump you around without apology and sit nattering after eating, causing a shortage of tables for those wandering round looking for somewhere to eat their slop. Fortunately we only had to use the windjammer a couple of times due to the restaurant being closed when the bus tours returned to the ship. The ship is a marvellous piece of engineering that they try to cram as many people in as possible. I can't help thinking that if she carried fewer passengers and charged a few dollars more per head to maintain profit margin, it would make for a far better experience with the public areas less crowded, rather than feeling like a Turkish bazaar.
