This was our third time sailing with Celebrity but have sailed on other lines. Both my husband and I loved this cruise and the ship.
We stayed in Rome three nights before embarking in Civitavecchia. We opted to take the airport bus from FCO to Termini train station. It was a mob scene to load our own luggage and board the bus--never again. This was our third time in Rome and it was great to see again. We stayed at the Hotel Opera Roma which was about 7 minutes walk from the Termini train station. The area was great for walking to most sights in the city. We took the train to the cruise port and then shared a cab to the cruise port entrance. The cab driver dropped us off in front of the ship.
Embarkation was easy and we ate lunch in the Oceanview Café. At about 1 pm our rooms were ready. We were thrilled with our inside cabin(8148 Vista deck), much larger than we have had on either Princess or Holland America. Our cabin stewards were always friendly and both did a great job.
Our cabin was spacious, always kept clean by our cabin stewards. Lots of storage, although we didn't use the upper storage above the bed.
We have been to Rome 3 times now, loved it all times. Would go again in a heartbeat!
Mykonos was great, although a bit confused in finding our way. Finally found the windmills. Would take an excursion next time.
Visited the castle and did some shopping. Not sure what there was to see otherwise.
We've seen the sights around Naples(Pompeii, Sorrento, etc.). We were going to use the hop on hop off in Naples, but decided at the last minute to walk around ourselves - big mistake. I think we would have enjoyed it more if we did an organized excursion, possibly a walking tour of old Naples or the hop on hop off bus.
