I have just completed my 8th cruise all with NCL and this was the best one yet. I have not previously written a review on cruise critic even though i have been a follower for some time now but i finally felt the need to type out our experience.
First off, FORGET THOSE PURELY NEGATIVE REVIEWS!!!!! There is absolutely no way that their vacations were that terrible from start to finish. If they were as bad as they were, then NCL would be going out of business, and they surely are not. Sure some guests do not like Freestyle cruising, but we love it. The staff through all of our cruises have been pretty much wonderful. In the literally hundreds, if not a thousand of the staff we have ever met over the years, there might have been maybe 1 or 2 sour apples out of the bunch, but that's about it.
When they say the food was terrible, i highly doubt they eat at Michelin star restaurants night in and night out. i'm certain that some food could be better, but a lot of the times the food is bang on awesome!!! If they want ultra high class food, sail on Regent Seven Seas or a luxury cruise liner. When they say that the staff was un-attentive, i would disagree 100% percent. Sure there are a lot of guests on board, but that doesn't mean that if you needed a question answered or you needed help the staff went above and beyond to help us out each and every time.
Amazing room! Space galore and the balcony, what else more can we say. Just amazing! Sure it may not be as "big" as the same room on the lower floors, but, unless you are sleeping 8 people on that balcony, our was plenty and then some. The bed was great, the pillows fantastic. The master bath was immaculate. The 2nd bath room wasn't too shabby either, a bit snug, but we rarely used it.
We can only wish we can stay in the Haven every time!
we enjoyed walking in Cozumel. our fave stop
Very nice port
Small port. And because we had a 6 month old, we did not want to venture out too far, and we did not want to take a taxi without her car seat.
Lots to see and do at this port. Lots of little shops.
we love miami
