This was our tenth cruise but first Carnival cruise and first med cruise. We chose this one because it had all the ports we wanted to visit and couldn't resist that it was a brand new ship! We have cruised with Celebrity, Princess and MSC over the past few years.
We arrived early morning on embarkation day and had arranged a four hour tour of Barcelona with a drop off at the ship following the tour. Embarkation took about an hour as they were backed up by 2-3:00 in the afternoon.
Our balcony cabin 8392 was lovely. Standard and comparable to other balcony rooms on other cruise ships. The bed was very comfortable with fresh, crisp, new linens and new thick bath towels. The bathroom was stocked with low quality shampoo and body wash which I only used once. There was a new large flat screen TV across from the bed. I wish they would have offered music options on the TV. The slamming of the balcony doors was a problem. If you weren't thinking to ease the door closed, it slammed loudly. I like the sliding balcony doors better myself. The cabin steward did a lovely job of keeping our room clean.
