This was our second cruise with AMA, the first was the Budapest to Prague xmas cruise (AMAbella). It was from April 29 to MayThe excellence of the cruise made us chose it again to do the lower Danube. There was little to complain about all was as advertised and the food was excellent particularly when you consider the size of the kitchen. The staff is professional and friendly, a special credo to Janos the waiter ... and also to the brilliant Maddy our cruise director who does not seem to sleep or eat. All tours where as advistised except at Rouse, where there was an added one or two. The line seems to be trying to cater to almost everyone, with high end bikes for the really active and "pink" tours for those that are well over middle age. Speed of tours for all was good but as aways not enough time for everthing. Guides where good to very good (I was a professional guide for 20 years so can comment).

Cabins are good, we book the lower deck it is cheaper, who spends much time in their cabins. Would be great if there was just a bit more space for suitcases, we travel usually with one but those with two or more night find things a bit tight. Still good and the long suffering housekeepers do a great job.

Vulkavar tour was abit depressing, sad that there is so much hate in the world but the learning experience was great and helped us understand some of the eastern European issues in the past. Other tours where all great and provide much informtion on a part of Europe not as many people visit. Read more
