I chose this cruise for the convenience of just driving downtown Tampa and parking to get on the ship. This is however my first time on carnival since 1980 and it is no comparing them to Royal Caribbean or Princess lines that overall cater more to adults with the entertainment and cuisine. Let me start off with the sour smells in the dining room that they are trying to mask with fans sitting around on the floor. I have always raved about the food on cruises, but everything on this ship was tasteless and or watered down. The entertainment was adequate at times, but them they ruined that by constantly having someone taking a picture of you to sell. Know who would order a frozen drink for $9 that a waiter has been walking around with for 10 minutes while it turns to syrup, and if you try going to the bar the wait is even longer. The majority of the crew act as if they are not happy with their job and don't care how they treat people yet are paid by a mandatory gratuity deducted from your card.
