Traveling with theater group Berlin-Prague. Viking Astrild is newer two deck, midsized ship that allows easy interaction between all guests. Crew was outstanding from day one and quickly picked up on individual preferences of the guests.
Food was delicious with an abundance of fresh fruits and vegetables delivered each day to accompany meals. The cheese variety and abundance was amazing. Ask the chef for recipe on any favorite meals.
The guides for tours were great and added many interesting insights for locations visited.
Cabin Review
Standard Outside Stateroom
We were in a basic outside room with king size bed at water level. There was a
large window, waist high to ceiling, which allowed a good view of shore and enhanced
the notion of moving on the river. The ride was smooth and quiet and you never had a
feeling of movement unless you looked outside.
The room was comfortable and adequate while we were in it, but the common spaces
were also comfortable and we spent most of the time outside the room. Cabin service was outstanding. We would leave for a quick breakfast and the room was always cleaned before we got back. Crew members introduced themselves the first day as we checked in and offered help whenever needed, then proceeded to answer every need before we had any reason to ask.
