This was our third cruise on this ship. We have done two trips from Sydney to New Zealand this being our first to Alaska. Due to two cruise ships being in port we waited longer than normal to get onto the Solstice. She still looks good and beautifully clean. Staff are very friendly but we found some of the European staff a bit cold. Only used tha main dinning room once as the wife and I contracted heavy colds so we went to the Ocean View restaurant at night for dinner instead. We found the food here to bee very boring due to the repetition, also the food was never hot ,at times Luke warm. I did complain and the chef did cook me some fresh hot food.
We visited Ketchikan, Juneau and Skagway and the scenery was mind blowing. There was a guy onboard who gave lectures on Alaska, humpback whales. Tracy Arm Fjord and bears. His name is Brent Nixon , boy he was a gem. His wife Miss Amanda also gave lectures as well her best being about The Titanic just amazing
Our balcony cabin on deck nine was great and the cabin boys did a good job keeping it fresh and clean. We did find some passengers onboard to very very loud and rude but I suppose you get that anywhere
Great cabin, good location, had some noisy neighbours on one side. The cabin boys were just great.
Very picturesque.
