We loved our cruise! It was the first time the kids have been on a cruise and they have been forever spoiled and want all our vacations to be cruises now.

They loved the water slides, ropes course, mini golf, basketball, bungee trampoline, kids' program, and just the whole experience.

They loved the buffet with all its choices. And the soft ice cream machine! We didn't go to any of the specialty restaurants but did eat at each of the complimentary restaurants at least once. We appreciated the children's menu there as well.

Cabin Review

Inside Stateroom

We chose an inside cabin to keep costs down so we could go on more excursions and I'm glad we did. We didn't spend much time there, except to sleep and change anyway. There was adequate space for 4 people's belongings and I maximized it even more with a pocket organizer hanging on the bathroom door and a hanging sweater organizer in the closet. There was plenty of space under the bed for suitcases too. The kids loved the bunkbeds and we loved that they were put up during the day so we didn't feel cramped all the time.

Port Reviews

Miami

We didn't spend any time here but we did park our car in the garage for the whole week and were pleasantly surprised that we could pay with a credit card (the Norwegian site said cash only). Also pleased that each day is a 24 hour period and because we did the express disembarkation option (carrying our own luggage out), we left earlier in the day than when we checked in, so we only had to pay for 7 days instead of 8.

Belize City

We weren't able to get on the excursion we wanted (wildlife river cruise... apparently there are only 36 spots available!), so we took a tender and shopped in port for a little while. My daughter enjoyed collecting the free charms at each port from the jewelry stores. We were disappointed though that there is really nothing else to do in the port and we were warned repeatedly not to leave the immediate port are due to poverty and crime nearby. The kids enjoyed the tender experience though!

Costa Maya

Costa Maya is another port that is really just for cruise ship guests. We shopped for awhile but there wasn't much else to do there. We enjoyed the trolley along the pier and collecting more charms.
