Sail Date: May 2016

We choose this cruise because it fitted in with our dates. We liked the itinary and the ship looked really good.

Being new the ship was clean and new looking. Our cabin was a bit bigger than we normally have but I was disappointed in the amount of storage space. We loved the sports deck. And spent a lot of time playing golf. The younger members othe family tried the sky ride and the sky walk. These were only open at certain times ànd had long cues. The shows in the liquid lounge were very good. If there is a film shoiwing in the Imax you would like to see it is well worth a visit. We often arranged our evening around what film was showing on the Lido deck. Blankets are supplied as well as popcorn. It can get a little chilly up there so dress up warm.

We ate in the market place at breakfast lunch if we were on board and once or twice in the evening. Breakfast was almost the same each day. There was reasonable choice at lunch. It is set out a little strangely. The savoury is at one end and the sweet at the back making it a little difficult to get both at the same time. The food in the market place us okay but not great. There is also a 24 hour pizza place at the back of the market place. Guys burgers by the pool and a buritto bar. The burgers and burritos shut at six which means you can't have them whilst watching the film. Personally I think this is a mistake. There is limited food later in the evening. There is nothing sweet except ice cream and frozen yogurt. The drinks stations are open 24 hours.

Cabin Review

Cabin forward outside

A good size cabin. Not as much storage space as I would have liked.

Port Reviews

Barcelona

We did our own thing! We have been to Barcelona a few times before

Marseille

The shuttle fee is ridiculously high! Enjoyed wondering around this lovely place. We followed the painted lines on the pavement.

Florence (Livorno)

We got the tram to the station and a train to Pisa. We had a lovely day, claimed the tower walked lots.

Rome (Civitavecchia)

We got the shuttle bus and did a coach ride into Rome. We have been to Rome a few times and know our way around. Did a loit of walking and visited all the sites we wanted to seesee.

Naples

Caught the train to Pompi. It was really crowded and hot. Walked around for a few hours then went back to the ship

Crete (Heraklion)

We took the hop on hop off bus and saw the sights. We hopped off at Knossos and looked round but this may have been one ruin too many! Hopped back on the bus and went back to the port.

Rhodes

We wondered round the old town and went into the Castle. It was wet so we did not go too far.

Athens (Piraeus)

We took the hop on hop off bus which took us straight to the Acropolis there was a bit of a que to pay. It is not the safest place to walk around if you have walking difficulties but well worth a visit. We then caught the bus into Placa and explored there before getting the buys back to the port.
