Chose this cruise because we had previously sailed on Elation and Paradise in the last year. This was picked because we wanted to try a bigger Carnival ship. Port was going through some parking garage construction, so we were told to drop off luggage and passengers and then proceed to park elsewhere and take a shuttle back. That was annoying because then we had to wait for my husband to go check in. We were suite guests so we had priority boarding and I didn't want to board without him.
Once he got back the checking in was a breeze. Very friendly people getting everyone checked in. We didn't wait but a few minutes to board the ship. My daughter and her husband were not priority and were on the ship just a few minutes after us. Upon entering the atrium there was an extremely strong smell of spray paint. Really strong. So strong I thought I was going to be sick. Decided to go to guys burgers for lunch to get some air. Room was ready in a couple hours and the room was really nice. Suite 7248. Room Steward Raymond was not the friendliest at all. Seemed annoyed anytime I asked him for anything. In fact was rude when coming back to our cabin after dinner and he had changed the sheets, and there was a big yellow wet stain on our king bed. We called down and asked for a replacement where he proceeded to blame us saying, "Next time, Don't leave your bag on the bed." We hadn't left a bag on the bed and we didn't place anything wet on the bed. I thought it was really rude of him to do that.
Food was awful in the dining room. We went the 1st 3 nights and didn't go back. Only thing edible was the French onion soup and stuffed mushrooms. Food wasn't any better on Lido. So I stuck to Guys Burgers, Pizza Pirate and the new Burrito place. Those were the only ones I liked. It was a big disappointment.
Cabin was nice. Plenty of storage. Nice jetted bathtub. Clean.
Margaritaville was nice but overpriced. Pool was nice and lots of pretty flowers around.
Easy embarkation
Except the parking issue
Local beach wasn't good, but pool was nice at port.
