This was our 6th cruise on the Celebration and will probably be our last. It was definitely our worst! On the day of embarkation the weather in Dubrovnik was heavy and constant rain which resulted in most passengers baggage being fairly wet through and affecting clothing to the extent that many had to have suits, dresses, etc cleaned, dried and ironed. Not a pleasant start to a cruise. We learnt many years ago to pack all clothing in vacuum sealed plastic bags and had no such problems. Check-in at the port is pretty straight forward but the timing of the various Thomson flights that day resulted in long delays.

The ship was not departing until the evening of the next day but as the weather was still very iffy and having explored Dubrovnik before, we stayed on the ship other than for a very brief sojourn to some souvenir stalls set up on the dock side.

The ship itself is a grand old lady and I have no complaints in that regard. She has an open deck promenade deck so you can walk right around the ship uninterrupted. The new sun deck (which replaces the sports deck) has single and double sun beds but these are fixed to the deck and cannot be moved so you cannot follow the sun. A waste in my opinion.

Cabin Review

Cabin Deluxe

Plenty of room and storage. Complete with 3seater sofa which doubled as extra bed. Full bathroom with bath and shower over the bath. Only downside, no branded toiletries!
