This was our first ever cruise. We enjoyed the cruise and the ship was beautiful. The staff was amazing and all were very attentive to our every need, however, we were misled a bit on our state room window and what that really was. We upgraded to a Ocean View and had a 3 ft by 3 ft window. This was an extra $1000.00 and the window dirty all the time and we could not enjoy the view. Of course we did not stay in our state room very much but when we were in there we would have enjoyed the view of Alaska when we were.

The info provided as they herded/misled us into the ships theater for “TIPS ON SHOPPING in ports” in port was nothing more than a timeshare sales effort/Infomercial. What the gentleman was pushing for his emeralds, diamonds, and tanzanite in port and on the ship. He came over the loud speaker several times a day announcing his wares and pushing them on everyone.

While on our very first excursion, we were forced to stand in the rain for 30 minutes waiting for a bus to arrive, when they arrived and made it to our first destination (glacier), we only have 30 minutes to enjoy that destination when we were supposed to have and hour and a half. We then embarked again on the bus to go whale watching and when the boat was ready to leave we found out that there was yet another bus load of people coming where the bus had broken down and we would have to wait for them to arrive. Forty Five minutes later, the bus finally arrived and we were off. Then we were so late getting back to the ship that we missed our dinner reservations and only made it back to the ship with 5 minutes to spare before the ship was to leave. We did not have the opportunity to enjoy the city of Juneau, Ak due to all of this as well. We were unaware that the ship would not wait for us because we booked the excursion through Norwegian’s excursion desk. This being our first cruise we were extremely scared that the ship would leave us in port. We were never given the instruction that the ship would wait for us.

Cabin Review

Cabin OB

Although the cabin was small (300 sq ft) it was very nice. The steward kept the cabin clean and was extremely attentive to our every need. Frank James was our Steward and an awesome fellow. The cabin window stayed dirty the entire trip though.
